Dawn has been my Pilates teacher since 2006.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease, and informed that my back, posture and mobility were in poor condition. I decided to try Pilates and this has been so worthwhile.
Dawn has been a great support and is extremely knowledgeable. If a member of her class has any injuries Dawn ensures they only undertake exercises to suit their condition.

In 2010 I injured my lower back. I had two prolapsed discs which were causing me excruciating pain. I had dreadful sciatica and was on a daily high dose of anti-inflammatory medication. My consultant offered me spinal surgery which I wasn’t keen on. He also recommended that I take up a regular form of exercise to strengthen my back.
I had heard about Pilates being really good for this type of thing, so I contacted Dawn and booked a place on her course. 12 years on, I am thoroughly enjoying the classes. Dawn is an excellent teacher who makes the class fun, in a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Dawn always makes adjustments where needed, and makes sure everyone’s individual needs are well catered for. Most importantly I have managed to avoid having back surgery and I am off the strong medication.

Having injured my knee in the gym I felt I had reached the age when a ‘gentler’ form of exercise was needed. I saw an advert for Dawn’s classes (many years ago now), and right from the start was made to feel part of the Pilates family. I soon realised that Pilates was not as gentle as I had imagined, yet the benefits were quickly noticed.

Even in the depths of winter when it is so much easier to curl up and hibernate, you feel you must go along to class, knowing that when you have worked out and had a laugh you will come away feeling in Dawn’s words “AM-A-ZING!!!”
The biggest change, though, has been my sciatic pain. The gentle stretching and strengthening have eased the tension in my lower back and hips, and I hardly ever feel that sharp pain anymore. Pilates has helped me reconnect with my body and move without fear or discomfort. I’m honestly very grateful how flexible it has made me!”
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dawn! From the very first class, she has made me feel supported and confident. Her knowledge, patience, and attention to detail. She takes the time to understand everybody’s needs and always offer gentle corrections that make a huge difference in how each movement feels.
